This two-day plan uses Huntington for one selective river or outdoor stop, Russell as a brief transition, and Westfield, Massachusetts as the default dinner, lodging, and second-day base.

Day 1: River towns to Westfield

• Start with one Huntington choice: Littleville Lake, Knightville Dam, or a short river pause.
• Keep Russell proportional with a brief scenic, park, or local-history stop.
• Continue to Westfield for dinner and the default overnight.
• Use downtown services to recover schedule time rather than adding another major first-day attraction.

Day 2: Choose one Westfield plan

Downtown and trail

• Walk the Downtown Westfield Cultural District.
• Add a manageable Columbia Greenway or riverfront segment.
• Leave time for food before continuing east.

Stanley Park and downtown

• Give Stanley Park the principal outdoor block.
• Add only a lighter downtown meal or walk.
• Check park season, event schedules, and facility access.

Springfield continuation

• Keep Westfield to a shorter downtown, trail, or service stop.
• Continue to West Springfield and Springfield for the main city block.

One-day version
