Use Becket as the western handoff, make Chester the principal short stop, and use Huntington only for services or a brief river pause before continuing toward Russell.
Rail and industrial history
Give Chester time for the railway station area, village walking, and local industrial history. Add the Keystone Arch Bridges only when the hike is the day’s principal activity and trail conditions, parking, weather, and daylight align.
Westfield River outdoor crossing
Choose one substantial outdoor plan near Chester or Huntington. Littleville Lake and Knightville Dam are separate Huntington choices, and the Keystone Arches require a different time block. Trying to combine all three creates more detour time than the direct mileage suggests.
