Boston and Kenmore Route 20 Weekend

Use this weekend to complete the Route 20 drive at Kenmore Square, then give Boston one focused day instead of compressing the endpoint and the entire city into a single checklist.

Day one: finish Route 20

• Begin with the Watertown handoff.
• Choose one Allston neighborhood or Charles River stop.
• Reach Kenmore Square as the formal finish.
• Add Fenway Park or the Back Bay Fens only when time, tickets, and event conditions support it.
• Use Boston as the overnight.

Day two: choose one Boston lane

Fenway and parks

• Take a confirmed Fenway Park tour, attend a game or event, or spend time around the ballpark.
• Add the Back Bay Fens or another nearby walk.
• Keep food and neighborhood time close to Kenmore and Fenway.

Historic Boston

• Leave the Route 20 line deliberately.
• Choose the Freedom Trail or one focused central-Boston history block.
• Use transit or walking and avoid stacking several major districts into a rushed day.

Short departure day

• Start with breakfast around Kenmore or Allston.
• Add one compact river or park walk.
• Depart without forcing a second major attraction.

One-day version

Choose either:

• Watertown to Allston-Brighton to Kenmore with one brief neighborhood stop, or
• a direct endpoint finish plus one Fenway-Kenmore activity.

A scheduled Fenway event can dominate traffic, parking, road access, and the day itself. Build around the confirmed event rather than treating it as an add-on.
